Yesterday afternoon, I was walking around downtown after leaving work at the language school when I decided to take some pictures. It has been a while since I’ve actively snapped pictures and shared them. I’ve taken so many pictures of Downtown San Diego that I was starting to think that there was nothing left for me to see. However, when I was walking back and forth between the language school’s two campuses, I saw the grafitti on the walls of the old California Theatre building and wanted to take them. Unfortunately, I had no camera on me, so I more than made up for it yesterday.

Original Database
Last week, I took some pictures in the San Diego Central Library, and I came across this card catalog cabinet, which is very rare. Most of the other branches in the San Diego Public Library system has phased them out, especially with modern facilities out in suburbia. Central Library, however, is still in a antiquated, late 1930′s building. Even with modern equipment here and there, there are reminder’s of the library’s past. This is definitely a beautiful reminder.

iPhone Photos Askew
Am I the only one who’s taking pictures where the perspective is warped on my iPhone? Perhaps I’m accustomed to the two-dimensional effect of conventional cameras, but from time to time, buildings seem out of whack. Here are some lovely examples:

5th and Washington, Hillcrest.

Ash Street towards the Harbor, Downtown San Diego.

Columbia District, Downtown San Diego.
This one almost seems to be in classical perspective, but is still a bit off:

Core District and East Village, Downtown San Diego.
Please tell me I’m not crazy.

Rainstorm in San Diego
I know, in some parts of the country, rain is not a big deal. However, in San Diego, it is. So much so that I find it to be blogworthy.
San Diego has been parched for months, which culminated in some fires a month ago. Now it’s raining and I feel for those out of towners who come here to experience those beautiful days we’re famous for, especially Chris. He is here for a conference and he’s greeted with rain the first day here. Hopefully, he has an umbrella handy, but it’s not too hard to grab one anywhere in downtown.
I’m definitely looking forward to the meetup. I wonder if it will rain like this tomorrow.
