Ask me, I won’t say , ‘No, how could I?’ - The Smiths, “Ask”
I am a thirty-something holder of an MFA Creative Writing degree in San Diego, California. OK, that doesn’t make me too special. While I was born in Japan, I’ve spent most of my life in Southern California. I’m a fashion school dropout who, ironically, taught a few classes at the same school. I have a BA (English) and the MFA from San Diego State University.
I’m the introverted type who chooses a few good friends over having many. I have to admit I watch too much television. Some of my posts reflect that. I also like books, art, museums, and walking about town.
I have had a personal website in one form or another over the past 10 years. I used to have a simple website devoted to stories and poems (I may do it again someday, especially for some projects). I’ve also had a few blogs before this one on LiveJournal (very on and off) and on Blogger. This move to my own webspace and domain name is very recent. Like most people I know in the online realm, I have several online presences:
shindo’s meta-profile:
- Facebook. I have to know you.
- Flickr. See my photos.
- Twitter. My microblog. Tweet! Tweet!.
- Last.FM. Find out what I listen to.
- Good Reads. See what I’m reading/have read.
- Del.Icio.Us. Whenever the information is so irrestible, I bookmark it.
- Glee. Think of it as LGBT MySpace. I’ve met some blogger friends there.
- NowPublic. My pics occasionally get co-opted in amateur journalism.
- YouTube. Some of my videos and vlogs.
- Wikipedia. I have created a few articles, most notably on SDSU-based authors.
- MySpace. Im not there that much, but feel free to befriend me without me knowing you.
- Myspace. Even another useless profile.
- LiveJournal. My defunct on and off proto-blog, 2001-2007. Essentially abandoned.
If you’re absolutely dying to reach me, you can e-mail me at shinichi @ shindotv dot com. My iChat/AIM username is shindotv.
If you encounter the username “shindotv” anywhere else in NetLand, it’s me. However, ask first.
I also have some defunct profiles: shinichi_e, mustafa_mond, and shinchy (Yahoo), yukio (Planet Out), shinchy (Live Journal). If you knew me under any of those monikers, it’s nice to meet you again.
Welcome to my world.
Here is a stinking badge. More to come in the near future.
Freedom of speech is important, dammit! Especially on the internet.
