Supersize Me on the McLatté

I’m not too surprised by the turn of events described in the Wall Street Journal as McDonald’s vies for a share of the upscale coffee market. Starbuck’s has created drive-tru’s and egg muffins to create convenience for customers on the go (very McDonald’s), so it was only about time the supersize fast food chain tried to create better coffee and up its image. McDonald’s as a corporation has created a business model emulated by other fast food chains and even other corporations, so it is interesting that they are now stealing another kind of model. Ray Kroc would be proud.

Somehow, I don’t think we’ll be able to have the perverse pleasure of mispronouncing “grande” at McDonald’s.
