Yikes! They’re All In San Diego

When Brian said he should call the legion of fanboys down on me (for Eureka spoilers), it occurred to me that they are in San Diego for the next few days. Comic-Con is going on for the an extended weekend (and it’s sold out), so there should be too many people for the San Diego Convention Center. I went to the Sneak Preview tonight, and there were tons of people in the Exhibit Hall. All the usual vendors were there along with the big players – SciFi Channel, Warner Brothers, 300 (DVD promotion), several major publishers, and some upcoming movies. Needless to say, the fanboys were in full force tonight. I wonder how many of them were in Brian’s network.

Here are some reasons why I should worry:

  1. Brian can provide them with online pics of what I look like.
  2. I plan to come to Comic-Con for at least a few hours per day.
  3. They may see me at Comic-Con and recognize me by the pics.
  4. I plan to attend the Eureka panel.

Reason why I shouldn’t worry:

  1. There is plenty of shopping to be done in the Exhibit Hall.
  2. There are plenty of promo’s to collect.
  3. There are plenty of screenings.
  4. There are plenty of panels.
  5. With so many kindred spirits under one roof, there is plenty of opportunity to hook up and get laid. There is nothing like geek love.

Life’s too short. I can’t live in fear of the fanboy equivalent of Al Gay-da (where there’s some overlap). Neil Gaiman is going to be there. I’d love to meet him for sure, sign my copy of American Gods.

  1. *muahahahahaha!

Rise up, my minions!! I should have fed-ex’d my copies of American Gods and Anansi Boys to you so you could stalk Neil for a signature. I was just listening to his short story How to talk to Girls at Parties the other day.
