This is a freaky read in Washinton City Paper about people having their items stolen from them by Washington D.C.’s Water and Sewer Authority. It’s scary that a city government is so hungry for revenue that they have resorted to stealing possessions from the taxpayers. Or, their contractors have gotten greedy (as if the rates they charge aren’t enough). What the hell is wrong with these people?
I hope this doesn’t happen in San Diego, which has had some very serious fiscal problems over the past few years. Parking enforcement is very efficient at raising revenue and sometimes they steal cars (from folks who don’t pay up). But, this is very clever.
